What is a SAP Landscape?
it is a collection of system which are connected throug TMS (transport management system).
The standard and recommend landscape is three system Landscape as shown in figure
Here a new tcode or new program is developed in Development system and is transported to Quality system. Then it is tested on sample data present in the QA system and then transported to production only if tests are successful.
The transport flow is
DEVELOPMENT --------> QUALITY -----------> PRODUCTION.
There are no reverse routes.
export(development) ---->import(quality)----> import(production)
But there are much more complicated landscapes out there..
some contains sandbox systems, some contains demo systems.
Sand box systems are the systems given to employees just after implementation so that they can get used to the production environment.
The above illustrated landscape is SAP recommended landscape.
